Racism in DoD is becoming a growing problem . something must be done about it, and i dont care if its the drink talking, as it seems it usually occurs late on a Fri/Sat night, im taking these steps to naming and shaming these smacktards. I suggest you all do the same and expose the racists little ****ers.

I don’t feel you can judge someone like that. I myself have used racial slurs in DoD/real life many a time, yet I don’t begrudge or treat any racial minority differently on/offline either. To some people its just words and a means to offend. It has no reflection on the way they treat people with a certain racial background in real life.

Maybe I have a different concept of racism then most here. But then again racism is pushed so far up peoples arses these days you can’t even sing ’ba ba black sheep’ at school anymore due to some over-sensitive ****s who forget what the core of being ’racist’ really means.

unless ISW etc was going to ban for this then it is more or less pointless to post peoples names etc for using racist slurs ingame. I very much doubt people actually care if they are named an shamed when they can carry on playing wi no bans etc

The only way to get rid of racism is to exclude the players that are racist.

The only place we can exclude them from is our own servers and forums. The thing with YCUK was great cos in the end none of them are welcome on any of your servers so they only have their own server to play on. Well if that hasn’t stopped those people from being racist in the DoD community then i’m a carrot.

Of course people who go to YCUK may be party to it, but for those who know - tough **** don’t go there, and those who don’t know - wel,l they learn very quickly and leave.

I have a feeling that if people start naming and shaming this will just go the way that so many other threads have gone, and will just ignite more interclan ********.

Get rid of people being racist off your servers, off your sites, off ED and tell those clans that you have regular relations with. I don’t think posting it here will help.

Well if you truely weren’t racist you wouldn’t notice a difference in skin colour. The fact is you do notice the difference so in that sense everyone is racist. Although it only becomes an issue if you start abusing people because of it, thats my opinion anyway.

well rascism is inevitably bad (unless its against french people in which case, well they ask for it) but my point is what has been posted is not rascism as they are not discriminating aganst someone because of their race

Somebody linked me to this thread and as usual with ED it made me laugh. As usual its full of idiots who no doubt go around with [owp] on the end of their name thinking they are part of some wonderful community. The poster of this thread is clearly only interested in a witchhunt because of the arguments seen in the condump and not with racial issues regarding the "ethnic folks" in dod. A post such as this would never see the light of day if one of your clan members was involved so dont try and take a moral highground. No doubt ur alterior motives of trying to have ur clan seen as doing good in the community was a decisive factor.

Another point, calling somebody a jew isnt racist its anti semitic. It makes me laugh how dod people always blame cs when something happens. Jews were a big part of ww2, its hardly crime of the century to mention them in a ww2 game. Anteo, I think you misunderstand the concept of racism. It’s nothing to do with noticing differences in skin colour, race, etc. It is treating these people different BECAUSE of their race.

I posted this to highlight the ever growing problem with racism in the gaming community. yes it happened to be a clan member, but if a member of public brought it to my attention with the evidence i would have taken the same steps. As for it being a witchunt, well thats laughable in itself, i do not go round servers hoping and praying to see a racist comment, if it happens on my server then action will be taken.

The fact is the|fastest, simply using a racial slur doesn’t necessarily mean your a racist. Another fine fact is that racism is so overblown these days, that people such as you and many other people in this thread think that people should be hung for using these words. You have no idea if they truely discriminate against ethnic minorities unless you can see a product of their direct actions towards people.

Well I’ve used many a racial slur in IRC and in game. Maybe I should proclaim that I’m a racist tomorrow at work. All my non-white colleagues will no doubt be shocked to hear the news despite years of working alongside them without treating them any differently from any other individual.
